Foundational Stage

Our foundational curriculum is built around a play-based, discovery-driven, and highly activity-centric pedagogical approach for Nursery, LKG, UKG, Class 1, and Class 2 (ages 3 to 8) students.

The Foundational Stage at Daffodil International School, Ballia, is the beginning of your child’s academic career. Based on the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), the integrated five-year block of classes is a smooth transition from three years of pre-school, i.e., Nursery, Lower Kindergarten (LKG), and Upper Kindergarten (UKG), to the first two years of primary school, Class 1 and Class 2. Thus, helping kids in the age group of 3-8 years ease into their academic life without any stress. The premier nursery and early primary school in Ballia provides children with the platform to explore, discover, and grow without fear. We believe that their early childhood care and early school years need to be an integrated and stress-free experience.

At a glance

Our basic curriculum is play-based and discovery-based, with lots of activities to engage kids in. We believe in fostering learning in a child-centric environment rather than promoting rote learning & examination-oriented education. Our curriculum is in tandem with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and the Pancha Kosha concept, which takes care of a child’s five aspects of development- physical, vital, mental, emotional, and blissful. Here is everything at a glance for you.

A safe, joyful start

We know that for a young child to learn, he/she needs to feel safe, so we have created an environment conducive to learning by providing a bright and cheerful school setting with lots of colors. We have child-friendly modular furniture, open low shelves, and soft corners. Our playgrounds and play areas provide children with high-quality equipment necessary to develop large and small motor skills while having fun in a safe environment free of toxic materials. Qualified professional teachers, who are always ready to support parents, serve as tutors and second mothers/fathers. Small teacher-to-student ratios ensure individualized attention. Instead of report cards, we send home a 360-degree comprehensive Holistic Progress Card (HPC) to help parents track their child’s progress in physical, intellectual, social-emotional, and creative development.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why are Class 1 and Class 2 clubbed with Nursery/KG under NEP 2020?

Research proves that 85% of brain development happens before age 8. So, clubbing of KG, Nursery, and lower classes is done so children can continue to enjoy the free-style learning method of play way until they are 8years old.

Q: How does the school handle separation anxiety for first-time Nursery students?

We have an amazing first week for new admissions which begin on a staggered basis, where parents are also encouraged to attend some sessions alongside their little ones, and our curriculum is designed to begin with lots of fun activities to make adjustment easier.

Q: What is the exact age criteria for admission this academic year?

As per new guidelines, we recommend that children should be at least 3 years old for Nursery and 6 years old for Class 1 to ensure they have completed 3 years prior to joining our school. Kindly contact the admission desk for the exact date of birth criteria, as it may vary from year to year, and we always follow government rules.
